I have been here for two months now. I can hardly believe it myself. You know, I really do love South Africa. I was a little "homesick" for maybe a couple of days, but other than that, I am still deeply in love with South Africa...

As you may have already guessed, this journal is going to concentrate mainly on culture and lifestyle. In fact, I am sure that many of you are wondering how am I dealing with the differences and similarities of culture. However, before I get there, I want you guys to know that I have received a lot blows from many of my African brothers and sisters due to my nationality. So many Africans from South Africa and different countries in Africa alike have asked me, "So, how are you finding Africa? Did you think there would be wild animals everywhere, and dirt roads crowded with orphan children who are infected with AIDS, too?"

I find that in Proverbs 20:24, "A person's steps are directed by the Lord." The proverb continues to ask, "How then can anyone understand their own way?"

Oh my goodness! I cannot believe that there are 38 days left before I leave for South Africa! Can you believe it? I am vastly nervous yet immensely excited all at once! In fact, I had a dream about my trip today.
