Thanks to packages from home, new friends, and the colder weather, many of the things that I was missing in the beginning of the semester are no longer a problem.
1. Hugs
Although I still miss hugs from loved ones at home, I no longer feel as lonely as I did in the beginning of the semester now that I have made friends here. Here, instead of hugs, it's two kisses on the cheeks!
2. Peanut butter
Yay, Jessica H.! I got her package yesterday, with peanut butter. MMMM...my toast was so good this morning with some peanut butter spread on it.
3. Old Bay Seasoning
Thank you again Mr. Lane! I love sprinkling Old Bay on my shrimp. It makes me think of the shore, and summer crab feasts. Ima and her son Eduardo tried it, but aren´t great fans. They don't really like spicy things.
4. The river
I still miss the Choptank River, but have had a bit of river time (or canal time) with my trip to Holland and our visits to Sevilla and Cordova.
...
7. A Decent Shower
I have figured out the tricks to this shower, and so now can enjoy a (mostly) hot shower!
8. My Duvet (also known to many Americans as a comforter)
With the colder weather, I know have a duvet on my bed!!!! Yay, thick downy softness.
9. Walking around barefoot.
Now that it is colder, I no longer have the desire to walk around barefoot on the cold tile floors! I want to wear slippers, or shoes.
