Done!

I just took my last final this morning! The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of studying and stress, but now it's all over and I can officially drain every academic cell in my body of life until January 16.

I got back from WWOOFing two days ago. It was a blast, but not at all what I was expecting. I had concocted some sort of fairy tale farm in my head, but it wasn't like that. It was real life, and a lot of hard work. KC and I ended up working for about eight hours a day, weeding and taking care of the animals and trimming hedges and mowing, and reading millions of stories to their four-year-old daughter. I made friends with a hen and her five chicks, who soon learned that I was happy to procrastinate on whatever I was doing and dig up worms for them.

There were also four adorable baby goats and three adult goats. They were all really affectionate and sweet. We made ice cream and cheese from all the milk we got!

I'm off to WWOOF again tomorrow, this time by myself, until Nov. 7. This time it's with a retired couple who like windsurfing and hiking, and they sound like a lot of fun. I'll be doing work mostly in their big garden, since they don't have any animals.
