Phishing Scam - Do not provide passwords over email

In a current phishing scam that is going around on college campuses, users are asked to provide username and password information to campus IT departments.

Never provide your username and password in an email! Bucknell will never ask you to provide this information to us!

Here is a sample message type that has been going around:

"We are currently upgrading our data base and e-mail account center ... Warning!!! Account owner that refuses to update his or her account within Seven days of receiving this warning will lose his or her account permanently."

While we have not seen this yet at Bucknell, it is best to be prepared. Never send username and password information over email!
