To support a new class on jazz history taught by Prof. Phil Haynes, the Bertrand Library recently purchased the one hundred classic jazz recordings listed in Ben Ratliff's book, Jazz: a Critic's Guide to the 100 Most Important Recordings.
These compact discs are located near the video and DVD collections on the library's main floor. Call numbers for the jazz section begin with "MJ", followed by the artist's name.
The purchases were supported by the Gladys Brooks Fund, a fund available to faculty for acquiring library materials for new and developing areas of the curriculum.
