Lost something in the library?

Lost something in the library? If you still haven't "found" those items that have been misplaced in or around the Bertrand Library, you may want to stop by our Lost and Found area. We are located on the main level of the library at the ASK/Reference Desk. You may also call us at 570-577-1462 from off campus or 7-1462 on campus. Our hours are 7:45 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.

Students: Make a research appointment with a librarian!

Do you need help doing research for an academic project? Do you need help getting started, or have you hit a dead end?

The librarians and Reference/Information Desk staff at ISR and the Bertrand Library are available by appointment to provide extended assistance for the research and information needs of Bucknell faculty, staff, and students. A one-on-one appointment with a librarian or Reference/Information Desk staff may be used to help you develop a starting point for your research, guide your ongoing research or instruct you on the use of library and research resources. Make an appointment now!

Students: Working on a group project or presentation?

Looking for a great place to get together with your group? Want a convenient place for practicing your presentation?

If you answered "yes" to these questions, look no further than the Bertrand Library's Collaborative Study Area on Level 2. The area features customizable, movable furniture, whiteboards on wheels, and three LCD screens where you may plug in your laptop and project your presentation.

The area is located near Current Periodicals on Level 2, and is available on a first come, first served basis. If you need assistance in connecting your laptop to the LCD screens, please ask at the tech desk.

Try out the new integrated library catalog prototype!

Library Users: ISR invites you to try out the library's new integrated catalog protoype! The prototype makes navigating the library's research easier, because it merges the library catalog, database searching, and Research By Subject guides.

ISR wants your input on this new service. Take the prototype for a test drive at http://bucknelllibrary.sirsi.net, and please fill out the feedback form. We're looking for your opinions on how it can be improved, what you feel could be added or taken away from the service, ideas about layout/look and feel, etc. Please take the prototype for a spin and send us your comments!

Keep in mind the prototype is just that; it is a work in progress. There may be some functionality that does not work, or incomplete content. ISR is looking for your thoughts on how we can improve this developing service.

Increased Campus Bandwidth

In October, ISR was able to negotiate an increase in the amount of bandwidth from our Internet service provider. As a result, the campus is now enjoying a 43% increase in the amount of Internet bandwidth, alleviating much of the network congestion and slowness we have recently experienced.

ISR will continue to manage network resources as appropriate to meet the needs and primary mission of the University. This recent negotiation certainly allows some "breathing room" to do that. Thank you for your patience as we worked through this challenge in an effort to provide you better service.
