Have you ever filled out a purple video suggestion slip? Ever wondered what happens to them once you drop them in the box?

No, they don't go into a big black hole... Library staff actually review them and often purchase movies suggested by library patrons.

If you visit the DVD area of the video collection, you will notice a new bulletin board. Here, library staff will post the purple suggestions slips users have submitted that have been ordered for the collection. News about other recent video acquisitions will be posted as well.

If you would like to submit a suggestion for the video collection, please visit the circulation desk and fill out a purple slip!

Avoid overdue fines! Renew your library materials online. Spring Break is coming up in just a few weeks. Don't get caught with library items due during the week of Break, when the library is open and fines will accrue. To renew your items, simply log on to myBucknell, navigate to the myLibrary tab, and locate the "Library Catalog" channel at the right side of your screen. Click on the "My Library Account" link, check the items you'd like to renew, click "renew selected items," and you're done!

Yes! Faculty may complete a "Faculty Permission Slip" at the Circulation Desk which gives the Teaching Assistant permission to check out items on the faculty member's library account. The TA retains a copy of the Permission Slip to show at the Circulation Desk.

First year students and seniors: Don't forget to fill out the LibQUAL survey! You received an email about it on Monday, February 5.

LibQUAL is a national survey that ISR has been using with each incoming Bucknell class in their first and final years at the University. This survey has been very helpful with ISR's efforts to continuously improve its library services for students.

The greater the response to the survey, the more likely it is that we will be able to identify specific library services that are important to you and your peers. Your participation will help immensely with ISR's study and we very much appreciate your effort to complete the survey.

ISR now has available a pool of 16 Tablet PCs for course-related use. These computers are all loaded on a cart, and they can be wheeled anywhere on campus.

What is a tablet PC?
A tablet PC is essentially a notebook computer with a touchscreen. You can use it just like a conventional computer, or you can operate it with a stylus or digital pen. The touchscreen functionality makes it easy to write notes, draw sketches, or annotate documents, for example.

Why would I want to use the tablet pool?
Any place on campus can now be an electronic classroom. If you need your students to have access to a computer but can't book a computer lab for a particular session of a class, the tablet pool might be just what you need. If your students need to collect data on campus or on a field trip, the tablet PC can be a device for collecting data anywhere.

The tablet PC also offers some interesting opportunities for sharing and collaboration. Perhaps your students need to work together on a document. A shared document via OneNote may be the solution. Or maybe they need to annotate your Powerpoint slides. The tablet and stylus make it easy to write on this type of document, and you can save your annotations as well.
