Today was our first work day and everyone was at the clinic. Some people worked in the clinic and pharmacy and lots of us worked on finishing up the new dental clinic for the dedication later this week. Five of us worked on painting the bars outside the windows to cover up the rust. It was amazing how quickly time flew before it was time for lunch.
While we were waiting to leave, a couple of us spent some time talking to a 10-year-old boy who hung out with us all morning. We heard about his favorite sport (soccer, of course) and some of his favorite movies. It was really great to talk to him, although difficult because we knew we had to leave. He told us about a missionary who visited his church recently and how much he enjoyed him and the things he brought them. However, this boy said that it was very sad that the missionary had to leave after just one day. One other Brigadista and I talked about this on the way home. It is very difficult to be seen as the people that come in and help and visit, just to leave shortly thereafter. I'm definitely looking forward to this afternoon at the clinic as well!
