Today was definitely the hottest day we've had here so far. Ironically, it was also our busiest day. As for tonight, we are about to head out on the bus to a Nicaraguan discoteca!
We started in the morning by learning about the bio-diesel the people at JHC produce and hearing about the women's sewing co-op. We then traveled to the clinic where we prepared for the afternoon's dedication. I got to work with the herbalist making herbal medicine. This was very interesting. I chopped and mixed basil and oregano to make a medication for coughs and nausea.
This afternoon was the dedication of the second clinic building. We were told that when Nicaraguans throw a party, they like to do it right. They most certainly did this afternoon. There were dancers, a vocal group, speakers, lots of decorations, and even more children.
Everyone was very excited and upbeat. It was such a heart-warming experience.

Lauren,
This was incredible to be able to hear about your adventures right away. What a great opportunity you had to travel there. It seems you have seen what we all need to be reminded of and how we forget that most of the world's majority live in those conditions. Being Catholic, it was heartwarmimg to hear about the church. I suppose you are in route home. I hope it will be safe and happy. Good luck when you return to the final weeks of school.
Peace and love you!
